Hillside is a private household app used by the residents and household staff of one home. It is not offered to the public, and only people who have been invited by email can sign in.
Information We Collect
- Sign-in details. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We use them only to recognize you and show your name in the app.
- Household records. Tasks, schedules, time clock punches, time off, holidays, vendor quotes and the files attached to them, and project costs that people enter into the app.
- Device settings. If you turn on notifications, we store the address your browser gives us for delivering them.
How We Use It
Information is used only to run the household: assigning and tracking work, recording hours for payroll, handling time off, and reviewing quotes. Each person sees only what their role allows; staff members do not see each other's hours, time off, or tasks.
Google Calendar and Google Drive
The house's own Google account connects to Hillside so the app can place tasks, time off, and holidays on the household's Google calendars and save nightly backups to a folder in that account's Google Drive. Hillside does not read or access your personal Google Calendar or Drive. Hillside's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Sharing
We do not sell information or use it for advertising. It is stored with the service providers that run the app (Supabase for the database and files, Vercel for hosting, and Google for sign-in, calendars, and backups) and is shared with the household's payroll provider only as needed to pay staff.
Keeping Records
Household and payroll records are kept indefinitely so they can be checked later. Deleting an item in the app hides it but keeps a record of the change.
